Associate Principal’s Message
Dear families,
Welcome to a belated parent newsletter!
We’ve had a great first full week back at Astrea Academy Dearne. Y11 Geography scholars had a fantastic time during their field work trip to Hornsea, getting a real sense of coastal formations and having the opportunity to carry out surveys of the beach – once again, conduct was exemplary and it’s another great example of how our scholars take the ambassador role on with pride.
It’s been a delight to meet and greet scholars in a morning and see them so well prepared in terms of their uniform, equipment and embracing our phones-free approach. It shows that scholars are appreciating the importance of learning as being central to school life, and I’m certain this understanding will set them in good stead for however long they are in our care.
Finally, can I remind all families about the importance of attendance to school, not just for learning but also for the wide-ranging pastoral support and enrichment that we offer all scholars; be it peripatetic music lessons, a check in from a form tutor or an appointment with our mental health team, being in school every daily brings so many benefits to your child.
I look forward to a fantastic week ahead!
Kind regards
Mr Arezoo
Associate Principal
