Associate Principal’s Message
Dear families,
As I stood at the gate at the end of the school day on Wednesday afternoon, I was delighted to see so many scholars with orange badges proudly on display. What a joy it is to see their hard work recognised! It always lifts my spirits to see our young people wearing those badges with pride. Their achievements matter, and we should all feel proud when they succeed.
There’s plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks:
Our Winter Showcase is set for December (look out for more details in the next week or so);
We’ve launched the 100% Attendance Club rewards—a great incentive for excellent attendance for all scholars;
And… I’m hearing whispers about the return of Christmas Dinner Day!
Finally, I’m thrilled to be presenting at the Schools and Academies Show in Birmingham this Thursday, sharing the fantastic work of our Youth Work in Schools (YWiS) partnership with Barnsley Council. If you think your child could benefit from their support, it’s simple; they just need to be in school and say hello to one of the YWiS team at lunchtime in The Street. It couldn’t be easier.
Have a great weekend – try and stay dry!
Kind regards
Mr Arezoo

British Army
Ever wondered what life in the British Army is really like?
Behind the Camo is a four-part virtual event series that gives a real, honest look at life in the British Army. Each episode features serving soldiers answering questions people don’t usually ask – covering different topics like career options, daily life, and common myths. It’s a great opportunity to hear personal stories, explore the wide range of roles available, and see how Army life can be more supportive and rewarding than you might expect. Get insider knowledge, hear directly from those living Army life, and have your unanswered questions tackled.
In our first episode, we explore the Army’s core roles in defence, peacekeeping, and humanitarian missions, brought to life through personal stories from serving soldiers.
