Associate Principal’s Message

Dear parents/carers,

We’re well into our 12 Days of Christmas challenge now! So far, we’ve enjoyed festive music at the gate, family dining challenges, and some fantastic reward events. Has your child taken part yet? There’s still plenty more to come—spot prizes, attendance rewards, and exciting competitions. All they need to do is be in school every day and get involved—because you’ve got to be in it to win it!

A huge thank you to all our scholars and their families who joined or supported our Winter Showcase on Wednesday evening. From the percussion ensemble and choir to the incredible individual performances—and of course, Mr. Robins’ brilliant compering—every moment was heart-warming and memorable. It was a truly fantastic experience that made me proud to be Principal of Astrea Academy Dearne.

Finally, a reminder for Year 11: mock results will be shared on Monday. Whether you’re celebrating success, hoping for improvement, or looking for support, please know that we believe in every student’s potential and remain committed to helping them achieve their aspirations. If you’re joining us for the after school Mock Results Event, we can’t wait to see you.

Lunch Menu

A Meal Deal consists of the following:

A meal meal and either a pudding or water
A sandwich and either a cookie or water
A pasta pot and either a cookie or water

Youth Work in Schools

Our Youth Work in Schools team have been working with scholars since September and are really keen to gain some parent feedback. The team run regular lunchtime drop in sessions which include Let’s Talk Tuesdays and Fun Fridays. They offer after school enrichment sessions which have included Christmas Crafts and BCalm Club. If your child is interested in any of these activities please encourage them to speak to a member of the Youth Work in Schools team on the street. The team are planning on offering more enrichment in the next term and would love to hear your thoughts and ideas.

Nut free school

A reminder that Astrea Academy Dearne is a nut free zone. We have scholars and members of staff in school who have severe nut allergies. Please do not allow children to bring in any products containing nuts.
